How to make an ask

We know it can be hard to ask for donations, so hopefully this guide give you the knowledge and confidence you need to change children’s health.

Start by introducing yourself. Tell them your name, position in Dance Marathon, your year, and, If applicable, remind them how you know them. This is especially helpful when contacting past professors.

Define what you are fundraising for, Riley Hospital for Children. More specifically, we fund the Palliative Care Team and the Magic Castle Cart.

Describe why this cause is important to you. Why do you DM? Why is the donor important to you?

Finally, make the ask. “Would you consider making a gift to my fundraising page? Here’s the link!”
