Mickey Deputy

Mickey, our then 7-year-old daughter who has Down Syndrome was admitted to the 5th floor Hem/Onc unit at Riley’s. On Tuesday, December 7th, we got the official diagnosis. Mickey has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). For most of the year, we had weekly clinic visits where Mickey would receive chemo and or blood products if needed. She has had many lumbar punctures (spinal taps) to deliver chemo into her central nervous system. She responded very well to treatment. Even though it’s hard to think back on the day that changed our family forever, we are now able to do so with more smiles as we remember the wonderful things God has done in our lives. We give Him all the praise that Mickey is with us today and is a happy healthy young woman.
