Danica Louks

At the end of July 2013, her family and she were going on a bike ride and Danica did not see the chain and was clotheslined by it. The bike flipped backward and she flew off her bike, landing on the back of her head. The hospital revealed that she had Chiari Malformation. She had her first dempossion brain surgery back on October 14, of 2013. After the surgery, she got chemical meningitis two weeks later and the pressure was building. It released thru the back of her head. Danica was in the hospital for two weeks on very strong steroids which made her gain 30lbs in 3 weeks. She did well for about two weeks until she got rushed back down to Riley with fever and unresponsive. This is when her family found out she has the Psuedo Tumor Cerebri. So her brain was under extreme pressure. She had a shunt placed in the right ventricular of her brain. She started having other problems after the shunt got placed. She starts having seizures. In February of 2014, she was diagnosed with Multiple types of epileptic seizures. There is no cure for either of her brain diseases. She is continuing her fight every day.
