Special Events

Ball State University Dance Marathon's special events are different fundraising events that are held throughout the year. They raise awareness and inspire participants to join us in February for our marathon. The types of events vary, but are open to all Ball State students and non-students. By participating in these events, BSUDM dancers will receive the opportunity to get soft credited the money they spend on registration for the events. This means that the money a dancer pays to attend an event will go towards their fundraising total.

The FT5K is BSUDM's largest annual event. It is held in early fall, and participants get the opportunity to enjoy a 5k walk/run through the Ball State campus. A t-shirt is provided as well as prizes to the top 5 runners. The FT5K is in honor of one of BSUDM's Riley kids, Wayland Villars, who passed away in the fall of 2013.

The annual BSUDM formal is held in the beginning of spring semester. The formal includes dancing, snacks, and a photo booth! Information regarding location and transportation will be announced closer to the event.

BSUDM puts on multiple Sponto events throughout the year. Spontos are themed parties with DJs, music, and snacks. But here’s the twist: the theme is announced a week in advance, so you don’t have long to plan your Sponto-aneous costume.
